Deep inside Guy Tavares

You can open his mouth with a feather, but it takes a clawhammer to shut it. The godfather of the West-coast speaks. Part 1 of a fascinating VPRO interview, highlighting a strange childhood and the Dutch Punk & Squat scenes of the mid to late 80's is now up. Part 2 about the rise of the West-coast Electro/Acid Techno scene follows tomorrow. (Article in Dutch)

Update: And here is part 2 of the interview.

JTC podcast at Red Bull Radio

A cool JTC podcast at Red Bull Radio this week.

"If regularity was dynamite, this guy wouldn't have enough to blow his hat off. Ann Arbor resident and long time Ghostly/Spectral watchman Tadd Mullinix (Dabrye/SK-1/James T Cotton) has a bucketload of projects and aliases - from dancefloor acid explosions of the jacking kind with Todd Osborn as TNT, to hypnotic beat scapes with the great Jay Dee, MF Doom, and others, as Dabrye. All these aliases might make things complicated for the royalties dept, but it doesn't get in the way of his stripped-back powerhouses of tracks, whatever the groove or tempo. Sometimes simplicity speaks volumes."

Orgue Electronique hooks up with Mr White

This weekend homeboy Orgue Electronique will hook up with the intriguing house singer Mr White, for.... yeah exactly what for is unclear, but it will likely be a cool night at the Bootleg in Rotterdam.

"After the underground hit 'The Sun Can't Compare' he produced with legendary Larry Heard, Mr. White has been touring all over the world. Originally released on Larry Heard's label 'Alleviated' this release has been licensed to major labels like [drop names here] and has found its way into all DJs of significance [into their something we guess]. Soulcom is very proud to present you the very first appearance in the Netherlands of this talented artist and he will find himself in very uplifting company: Clone's Serge, Pametex and Orgue Electronique will make sure the night will rise above and beyond the high expectations for this edition. Don't miss."

Dont miss indeed!

Listen to the Jesus-anthem here and watch an amazing clip at the same time!

JTC at Berlin Ruft An

An unlikely cat to play at the Teuto-centric Berlin Ruft An festival this weekend in The Hague is Crème Organization recording artist JTC (or James T Cotton, Tadd Mullinix, Dabrye whichever you prefer). Mullinix will play a DJ set which should prove interesting given his uniquely deep and paranoid take on the Chicago House legacy. Rumor has it he is armed with a boatload of personal edits and secret weapons that will guarantee a lot of aha Erlebung and prove to be a real trainspotters nightmare. He will be flanked by Shitkatapult protege (and Berlin native) Daniel Meteo.

TLR at Elektrowash Citizens Brussels

Here is a raw ghetto trainjakking TLR mix, recorded live at the Elektrowash Citizens party @ the Barrio Dungeon in Brussles 15th of March. Things got pretty hot and sweaty in that Belgian Death Trap.

Man bites dog Brussels style

An extremely surreal account of the events that transpired in a Brussels catacomb last weekend when a local tv station dropped by unanounced at the Elektro wash Citizens party at Barrio where TLR, Skurge & Stel-r played. Note the wonderful trancey music overlay, random shots of the opening DJ and indepth interviewing. Trainspotters keep an eye open for familiar faces. Electrooooooooooooo!

A real (audio) recording of the night will follow soon

DJ Skurge guestmix at Whitenoise

DJ Skurge (Galaxy 2 Galaxy, Model 500, UR) just finished a pretty succesful minitour of the Benelux together with Crème Organization. On March 15th he did a guestmix on Dave Clarke's Whitenoise radioshow. You can download the mix here.

TLR at Scanner FM Barcelona

Here is a link to a radioshow done some weeks ago at Scanner FM (Barcelona) by TLR & David Puente. Among inane ramblings (mostly in machinegun speed Spanish) some good tunes of upcoming Crème releases can be found. Transcripts of the chat can be found on the Clubbing Spain website. This little extravaganza took place before a nice meal with DJ Zero at the legendary Peruvian restaurant in BCN and a pretty booming party at the Be Cool Club, together with Berlin's own little sleazebag Sneak-Thief.

Tracklist:
01. Jackmaster Corky. "Dimension 106"
02. Rude 66. "As (Nicolas Courtin remix)"
03. Bangkok Impact. "You are rubber I am glue"
04. X2. "Barely a track (Legowelt remix)"
05. Galaxy Toobin Gang. ???
06. Alexander Robotnick. "Made in China (Unit 4 remix)"
07. The Jack. "Kontrol"

Galaxy Toobin Gang featured on 20Jazzfunkgreats

Galaxy Toobin Gang got some good press on the weird and sometimes wonderful 20Jazzfunkgreats blog.

A quote from the review;

"Our sensations of tense expectancy as we prepared to round the crest and peer out over an untrodden world can hardly be described on paper; even though we had no cause to think the regions beyond the range essentially different from those already seen and traversed. The touch of evil mystery in these barrier mountains, and in the beckoning sea of opalescent sky glimpsed betwixt their summits, was a highly subtle and attenuated matter not to be explained in literal words. Rather was it an affair of vague psychological symbolism and aesthetic association - a thing mixed up with exotic poetry and paintings, and with archaic myths lurking in shunned and forbidden volumes. Even the wind’s burden held a peculiar strain of conscious malignity; and for a second it seemed that the composite sound included a bizarre musical whistling or piping over a wide range as the blast swept in and out of the omnipresent and resonant cave mouths. There was a cloudy note of reminiscent repulsion in this sound, as complex and unplaceable as any of the other dark impressions"

Go figure.

Mindfuck Mondays on myspace

Mindfuck Mondays, the Hague's weekly post traumatic stress rehab at Cafe de Vinger (Bagijnestraat 25) has a new Myspace page. Better drop by and make friends!

Every monday from 8-12 pm you can drink away the pain and listen to raw jams provided by D&A Solutions (1st monday), Langweiligkeit (2nd monday), Acidos (3rd monday) and Crème Organization (4th monday). Occasional 5th mondays will be programmed not so randomly by some unknown entity.

Barely a Legowelt Remix sold out

It was to be expected, the 50 copies of the Legowelt remix of X2's Barely A Track Remix are all gone. There's is no re- or official press coming in the near future either, although rumor has it Cobra Nero might have one or two copies for sale!

Bangkok Impact & TLR in Brazil

Bangkok Impact & DJ TLR will be in Brazil for a few gigs end of March 08. Friday the 28th they play at D-Edge Club in Sao Paolo, and the day after that in Rio, on a soon to be disclosed location.

More info on the D-Edge website.

In april Legowelt will also touch down for gigs in Sao Paolo and Rio, but more about that soon
